It seemed to Zeta that there was someone new in town each day. Since she came to work for Dame Kulira she found she was kept busy in every aspect of Peleston. She might be taking survey reports, cleaning and decorating the keep, carrying messages from the few actual residents, or managing the inventory for Kulira’s students. Their guild dues paid for food and lodging, as well as the time from the swordmaster herself, of course. That meant Kulira’s time was too valuable to be spent roasting the meat, adjucating the Midik bureaucrats, or checking the progress of the sewer system. Zeta felt as though she’d learned more about structural supports and grading than she’d ever cared to. She was still adjusting to the little town, and all the construction projects. The temple/marketplace area had a massive load of stone and timber arrive, and the resulting chaos kept her busy later than she wanted. On her way back to the keep she passed the Orc hero Krrr, being followed discreetly by the two orcish storytellers who were to chronicle his life. Discreet for orcs, that is. The odd thing was that Krrr was carrying a massive load of lamb and pork. Checking on the stores at the keep, Zeta found a hasty note “Krrr took” where the meat had been.
